Reaching my destination

Welcome to my journey! This page outlines my ultimate career destination in wildlife biology, highlighting the academic, professional, and personal connections that are propelling me forward. Discover the path I'm charting to make a meaningful impact in conservation and research.

My academic journey

My academic journey has been foundational, providing me with the knowledge and critical thinking skills essential for wildlife biology. From my initial studies to pursuing a master's degree, each step has deepened my understanding and passion for conservation. Tanya Smith would be one of my academic contacts, she is the Director out at Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge. They have a website where they upload all their volunteer opportunities. My Uncle: Wayne Levering will be my other academic contact because he too went to college, he is also a HS teacher who teaches English as a second language and specializes in Economics.

Professional connections

Building a robust network of professional contacts has been crucial to my career development. These connections provide invaluable mentorship, collaboration opportunities, and insights into the evolving field of wildlife biology. I have 3 potential professional contacts 1. Ozark Nature Science Center, which I have already contacted for volunteer opportunities. They will train people to become wildlife guides and host all kinds of events for teaching people and kids. 2. Roaring River Fish Hatchery, also have volunteer opportunities but also post hourly jobs on their job board. They help students do internships as well. 3. Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge, I have been going here ever since we moved to Eureka Springs, they also have a internship program but is very competitive. Turpentine also has a website where they post their volunteer opportunities.

Personal mentors and supporters

Beyond academic and professional circles, my personal contacts have provided unwavering support and motivation. These mentors and friends offer encouragement, new perspectives, and a strong foundation for personal growth. Their belief in my aspirations fuels my dedication to achieving my career destination. Carly Webb was the first personal contact I thought of. Her daughter and my sister were friends in school, she has owned a couple businesses here in Eureka over the years and is now the office manager at Turpentine Creek. She is one of those people you can rely on life advice from. Randy Steiner was the next personal contact, he too can give life advice, he went to Cordon Bleu for culinary school, was a HS teacher, and he was my 8th grade History teacher. During the summer Randy my grandpa and me would all go fishing together because they were obsessed with the Walleye we have in Table Rock Lake.
